I’ve been a writer my entire life. From my elementary school days when I wrote short stories and stapled them together into books, to my high school and college years when I wrote angsty poetry in stacks of notebooks I still have, to the blog I started in 2010 that led me to an unexpected career as a writer. So to say that getting a book published is a lifelong dream for me isn’t an exaggeration.
I’m beyond thrilled to share that my debut memoir Camouflage: How I Emerged from the Shadows of a Military Marriage will be out in the world in fall 2025!
The deal was announced earlier this month, but I’m finally getting around to sharing the news here. I don’t have an official pub date, and we’re nowhere close to preorder links, but I promise to keep you posted on any updates.
If you feel like helping me celebrate, here are my social media announcements:
Thanks in advance for spreading the word and celebrating with me! And speaking of spreading the word, soon I’ll be building my launch team so look out for another post with an explanation of what that is and how you can join in on the fun.
Also, if you read my newsletter last month, you know I recently had a photo shoot. What I didn’t mention is that I did it to get new author photos. I had hundreds of choices between some amazing photos. Here are some of my favorites!
Please share if you have a favorite!
It takes a village to live a writing life, to learn the craft, to gain confidence, to get our stories out there. I appreciate you, dear readers, and the family and friends who have supported me every step of the way. I take nothing for granted. Glad to have you on this journey with me. More soon!
Woot! Congratulations!
So exciting, Heather! Congratulations!! And I LOVE all the photos, they’re all so good!
